Harnessing the Role of the Youth

In our midst is a graduate of BS Computer Science batch 2006. I will not divulge his real identity to protect his privacy. I believe he knows that I am talking about him if he gets to read this page.

He started from the regional abilympics competition and reached the top in winning the national. He then became the Philippines’ representative to the International Abilympics Skills competition computer programming category held in Japan last 2007. Unluckily, his plane never went there, he was denied the opportunity. His Alma mater’s concerted effort to support him in this competition was left in vain when some people in the government denied their support.

I took this person as an epitome of every youth in our country with a dream, a vision. The youth with right values, ingenuity, fervor and skill, the youth that must be given all the support to uphold themselves for they are the sole foundation of our country, the youth that will put a stronghold to the spirit of Filipinism through excellence not in sports or pageantry, the youth that will truly make our country great.
